Hello + thank you for considering my photography services for your wedding!

Weddings are truly my favorite because they combine my two most-loved types of photography: documentary-style storytelling AND whimsical-artistic photography.

BACKGROUND + EXPERIENCE:

First, if you don’t mind, please let me tell you a little about myself and how I got here so you can understand my work experience and style. Or - if that bores you - feel free to skip ahead!

Over 12 years ago while I was living in Minneapolis, I converted my love for photography into my profession and quite quickly started getting hired for some really amazing jobs like covering the Minnesota State Fair for the Minneapolis NBC affiliate and traveling to Chipewa Falls, WI to meet Dick Leinenkugal and document the “Land of Sky Blue Waters.” I developed a passion for story-telling. I marketed myself as a “photographer with a story to tell” and soon was hired by some pretty big names like Nikon, Verizon, SOFI, AT&T, Sun Country Airlines, Visit Door County, etc to tell their stories with my camera.

I also got sent on some amazing photography assignments like traveling to Uganda with the American Refugee Committee, Costa Rica with a luxury pilates retreat and Puerto Rico on assignment for an architectural magazine.

I also earned a lot of recognition including being featured in Minneapolis Magazine, the Star Tribune, the Huffington Post, Minneapolis Architecture Magazine, on the Nikon camera packaging, etc.

At the same time, I had a strong passion for being creative and making photography artwork. I loved to go to unique and beautiful places and photograph my friends, clients and models with props and amazing outfits.

I love minimalism and surrealism and it showed in my artwork. Soon my artistic photography was also being recognized! My photos were showing up in cool places like being printed onto a 65 foot tall banner on the side of a building in Denver, on the side of buses in Minneapolis, in a couple of shows at the Minneapolis Institute of Art, in the official Instagram feed of Instagram, on album covers, in the Photoville show in NYC, at the Institute of Art in Columbus, Ohio, at local art shows, stores, restaurants and more.

PRESENT DAY: Whew! So that gets me to where I am now. Thanks for reading all of that! First off, we moved back to Brookfield, WI - which is where I grew up and my parents reside - about 6 years ago. These days my kids are super active in sports and I want to watch them play and grow! So I have slowed down on the commercial aspect of my career. I also like to stay a little closer to home. I really enjoy shooting WEDDINGS, high school seniors, local business branding, families and sports.

I also shoot 2-4 local magazine covers per month (Brookfield Living Magazine, Elm Leaves Magazine, Tosa Living, etc.)

STYLE:

As far as aesthetics - I typically shoot a mix of posed + candid pictures. I love images that are clean, bright, fresh and timeless. Images that look and feel like you! I enjoy working with my clients to capture their artistic visions whether it be dark & moody, film and modern blur, or classic, clean and bright. I love it all!

PLANNING:

We will meet (Zoom, phone, email or in-person) before your wedding and establish an artistic vision, a timeline and a “shot list.” Depending on your vision, we may decide to pick a person (your mom, a friend, etc) who will help us wrangle people for group photos. (It seems there’s always an uncle or friend who is sneaking off for a drink or smoke right when you need them haha.) We will also make sure that you are leaving ample time in your schedule to take the photos you desire. And I will bounce some creative portrait ideas off you too! If your wedding is at a location that I have not previously shot at, I will often make a trip there to scout. I like to go at roughly the same time as your wedding to see what the light will look like. Many times I will excitedly text my clients with creative photo ideas after seeing the location!

WHAT YOU RECEIVE:

I will never forget the experience of going to a photographer for my senior year of high school photos. After my in-studio session, he sat my mom and I down at his desk and urged us to quickly pick and purchase our favorite photos… or we would never see them again. We ended up being coerced into spending a lot more money than we had planned… and left his studio feeling pretty awful.

SO… my goal is to never ever do that to my clients!

I want this to be a joyful + positive experience from start to end!

After your wedding, I “cull” the images (meaning I pick the best photos that are in-focus with open eyes and flattering expressions.) Then I hand-edit the photos. Each photo receives at least 20 minutes of my time. Some photos I will spend several hours getting them “just right!” I am picky in my editing process and artistic in my vision and I craft my photos very carefully. Then, I upload the finished photos to a shared drive (usually Google Drive) where they are yours to download, keep, cherish and print as you like! No hidden or additional fees. I do have a professional magazine-quality print service that you are welcome to order from if you like.

I typically will send you the photos within 2-3 weeks of your wedding depending on the time of year. I usually will share a few sneak-peek photos within a day or two of your event!

Thank you so much for your consideration!
